If you are complaining that Malawi lacks recreational opportunities such as movie theater and bowling alley for weekends, why don’t you start rock climbing?
4 Reasons to Try Rock Climbing
Rock Climbing is gaining worldwide recognition as it has become a medal sport in the 2020 Summer Olympics.
1. It is a Full-Body Workout
Rock Climbing engages nearly all parts of your body; arms, shoulders, fingers, legs and even toes and makes every part feel sore the next day.
2. Boosts Your Confidence
Just imagine being able to conquer your first wall. Even climbing to the top of the easiest wall, it can boost your confidence.
3. Creates Social Connections
Rock climbers are exceptionally social in general. Part of this is because climbers need to take turns belaying (fixing or securing a running rope around a pin, rock, cleat or something sturdy) for each other. But aside from that, they are a pretty supportive and out going community.
4. Rock Climbing Builds Trust
Climbing safely requires you to put your life in someone else’s hands. If you’re looking to test out a potential spouse or a business partner, rock climbing could serve as a good filter to see who’s the real keeper.
