Established by Linda Zamaele in 2022, the shop celebrates Malawian culture through its products.
At Queen Tenge, tradition meets innovation through its products.
Their products blend traditional Malawian crafts with contemporary designs to cater for different needs and a large audience.
The shop offers accessories, artifacts, laptop bags, tote bags, baskets as well as toiletry bags.
Each item is crafted from ‘chitenje’ fabric to promote Malawian culture.
Due to this, the name ‘Queen Tenge’ derives from the material used and signifies its status as the queen of chitenje.
Their products cater to different needs offering options for both human and individual projects.
For example, laptop bags for a professional look, tote bags for a trending look and toiletry bags for personal use.
Beyond the shop, Queen Tenge works with the Department of Arts and Crafts, the Malawi Investment and Trade Center and the Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture.
In 2023, Queen Tenge received an invitation by the Wuxing Bureau to attend the Huzhou Commodity Fair 2023.
Queen Tenge currently exports its products to the global market but in smaller quantities.
